The iconic Bottle Tree (Brachychiton Rupestris) grows all over Australia, particularly in arid regions and is known for its large bottle like trunk with distinctive bark patterning and gnarly branches. The largest Bottle Tree is in Roma in Western Queensland and has become a tourist attraction. Bottle trees store water in their trunks and were supposedly used by farmers to feed livestock during drought. Indigenous Australians used the fibrous bark to create rope and nets.
Bottle Trees are native to Australia and their distinctive characteristics captivate the hearts and souls of everyone who sees them.
