This drawing is derived from a photo Ann-Louise found while on Instagram. The ram was bred on a Merino stud called "Salt Creek" in Woorndoo, Victoria. The Coy family have been breeding super fine merino wool of 18-16 micron for the last 110 years in Woorndoo.
Ann-Louise is a self taught Brisbane artist, originally from a beef producing property near Cecil Plains, 120km west of Toowoomba, Qld. Coming from the land, I enjoy sketching images that resonate with my upbringing and find most of my inspiration from nature and iconic outback scenes. My drawings begin as high quality photographs taken on a digital camera, uploaded to my computer and converted into monochrome images. Using 100% cotton rag paper and graphite pencils.
